NO APPLE FACE ID IS NOT A 'SECURE PASSWORD'.....WHY?

RESEARCHES BREAK IPHONE'S  FACEID BIOMETRIC SYSTEM BY PUTTING GLASSSES ON UNCONSCIOUS PEOPLES

Security researches have cracked apple iphone's biometric system yet again.Finally researches have manage to bypass the security of iphone face id by finding a method to unlock iphone secured with face id without owner permission.

WHAT IS X-GLASSES?...

The details of the attack were explained by BLACK HAT 2019 in the conference . As they said that we can bypass the iphone faceid security with the glasses on which white and black tape are attached on it and that glasses are known as X-Glasses.

By this anyone can open the face id of the iphone without the owner permission .The attack leverages a biometrics function called “liveness” detection, designed to tell apart “fake” versus “real” features on people. The system essentially monitors background noise, response distortion or focus blur.

An attacker attempting to use this method in the real world will need a owner that's sleeping or unconscious, access to that owner iPhone, and then glasses would need to be placed over the eyes without waking the person up.This is very much difficult for the attacker to wear the glasses to owner without waking them up .this can be easily if victim is in deep sleep.


As added protection, only five unsuccessful match attempts are allowed by FacedID—and then a passcode is required.Now iphone have to make the face id more secure and they have to work on that technology.
